Πίτσια, Βασιλική

The present thesis aims at examining the role of the directors of Primary Education schools in the Prefecture of Pieria in the introduction and application of innovations and, more specifically, the case of interdiction. In Greece, the area of both public and private education relies heavily on teachers' initiative. The interdisciplinary approach to teaching is a type of innovation because it examines an object from many angles and even tries to pass that knowledge to the student through experiential experiences. Of course, the interdisciplinary approach to teaching is not new, but not too old. The beginnings of this program are in the early 20th century. It is therefore a program that is relatively new in the field of education and of course not all possibilities and opportunities that this program can offer can be found. This diploma thesis initially starts to develop the role of director in general in school units. It then analyzes the institutional role that the director has in the school units and who is generally his role in the modern Greek elementary school. All those attributes that a manager has to have in order to fulfill his role, as well as how a manager from a simple manager turns into a leader-leader, is outlined briefly. The second chapter analyzes innovation in education. Of course, any innovation you do not introduce in a simple way into a school unit, instead, is done with a certain process. This process follows three steps, which are those of adoption, implementation and institutionalization, and the innovations that are introduced into the educational units are distinguished in cultural, political and technological terms. Then reference is made to all those conditions that contribute to the success of introducing and implementing an innovation, as well as to those factors that can inhibit that success. In the third chapter there is a reference to the innovations in Greek schools and how the administration of the education system of Greece contributes to the realization of the innovations. Also, reference is made to the process of introducing innovations in the Greek school unit. The fourth chapter analyzes the concept of interdiction. Interdiction is a process that has tangible goals that are referenced in this chapter and has some specific features. Also, in the fourth chapter, reference is made to the stages of implementation of the interdisciplinarity, as well as what are the advantages that the pupil receives from the realization of such a process and what is the role the teacher should take when he heads such an activity. Finally, the fifth chapter of this diploma thesis presents the purpose of the research for which this diploma thesis was elaborated, which method was used in order to conduct this research, as well as the specimen used for this research. In addition, there are tables and graphs illustrating the results of this research and, of course, there is an analysis of the conclusions that have emerged from the conduct of the survey.
